On my way home after a tour of art shows, my I-40 turnoff to get back home from the East is in Holbrook, Arizona. From there, the landscape descends down into the Sonoran Desert, where Phoenix hails, and my favorite part is when the saguaro cacti begin to appear on the mountains. Once I'm back down in Tempe, not only are the cacti prevalent and various, but many a palm tree as well. It's all downhill from Holbrook...or this journal is going to travel uphill to YOU!
