Derwent Inktense Blocks
Using Derwent Inktense Blocks like watercolors is easy. Understanding the difference between the two is tricky. In this introduction to Inktense, I'm demonstrating how to layer up different colors while the previous layer is MOSTLY dry (not completely dry) and how to create a texture with your brush strokes.
These techniques can be used with watercolors, but the difference is that Inktense keeps its individual color while layering on top of others, and watercolors tend to mix with any base color put down first, whether that layer be wet or dry. I snuck in a little trick here, too, with a white gel pen for accenting the painting!
